Client Reporting for Agencies — SoloCMO Overview
Overview · 3 modules

Client reporting that proves the retainer.

Plan the work, report the production, prove the win. Three modules that answer the only question a client actually asks — what did I get this month?

Use a client with a full library and at least one ranking article. Anonymise the client name and logo before publishing.

Why it matters

Retainers don't get cancelled over rankings. They get cancelled over silence.

Most solo operators lose accounts they were actually winning, because month four arrives and there's no artifact that shows the work happened. Overview is the system that produces that artifact — not a slide you assemble the night before the call, but a live record of what was planned, what shipped, and what changed as a result.

Module 01 · plan

Content Planner

Kanban and calendar views over every client at once, so nothing ships late and nothing gets forgotten in a tab you closed.

  • Cross-client pipeline, filterable to one engagement
  • Kanban for stage, calendar for ship date, same cards underneath
  • Publish status on every asset, so approved doesn't get mistaken for live

Module 02 · report

Content Report

Every article for a client in one table, with what it was targeting, where it ranks now, and how far through production it got. Exports as the client's report from the same screen you work in.

  • Month at a glance: published this month, total library, production on track
  • Clicks, impressions and average position pulled from Search Console
  • Per-article target keyword with live rank, or an honest "not ranking yet"
  • Production progress against every required pass, with stalled pieces flagged
  • One-click export as a client report

Module 03 · prove

Client Wins

Each month the system reads that client's Google Business Profile, Search Console and Analytics history looking for a genuine improvement — then hands you the candidates to approve or throw away.

  • Candidates found automatically, with the date range and the inflection point where the change started
  • Supporting metrics attached: calls, messages, website clicks, direction requests
  • You dismiss anything not worth telling — nothing publishes on its own
  • Approve one and it gets written up as a shareable client win

A deliberate choice

A zero and "not ready yet" are not the same number.

Search Console usually needs two to four weeks after publishing before ranking and traffic data appear. Most reporting tools render that as a zero, which reads to a client like the work failed. The Content Report says the data is still gathering and tells them why, while showing production progress that is live immediately.

It's a small decision that does a lot of work: it means you can send a report in week one of a campaign without it looking like bad news.

Shared context

What feeds Overview, and what it sends back.

Overview doesn't ask you to enter anything twice. It reports on work the rest of the panel produced, and it hands unfinished work back to the modules that finish it.

Questions

Overview, answered straight.

Can I send the content report to a client?
Yes. The report exports as a client report from the same screen you work in, so the version you review and the version they receive are the same numbers.
Why does the report say performance is still gathering?
Because Search Console typically needs two to four weeks after publishing before ranking and traffic data appear. The report says so plainly instead of showing a zero that looks like failure. Production progress is live immediately.
How does a client win get found?
Each month the system scans that client's Google Business Profile, Search Console and Analytics history for a genuine improvement, then surfaces it as a candidate with its date range and the inflection point where the change started.
Does it publish wins automatically?
No. Every candidate waits for you. You dismiss the ones that aren't worth telling, and only the ones you approve get written up as a shareable client win.
What does the production number on each article mean?
Each article runs through a set number of production passes. The report shows how many are done against how many are required, and flags anything stalled part way so it doesn't sit unnoticed.

—  How It Works

Diagnose. Plan. Generate. Track.

The same loop, every client, every week. This is the operating system part.

1
Diagnose
Connect GSC, GBP, and GA4. SoloCMO surfaces striking-distance keywords, decaying content, and funnel choke points automatically.
2
Plan
Turn diagnostics into a prioritized roadmap — site structure, topical authority, link targets — ranked by revenue impact, not gut feel.
3
Generate
AI builds the deliverables: blog posts, landing pages, ad campaigns, GBP content — structured against the plan, in the client's voice.
4
Track
Rankings, map pack positions, traffic, and pipeline status update on the panel. You see what moved. So does your client.
